2020 Fall Baseball Training

The purpose of this fall training program is to develop and improve specific baseball skills - pitching (throwing velocity), hitting, infield play, or all of the above.  This program will consist of a 5-week, twice-a-week program. We will train and monitor the athletes growth in these areas. The minimum age for the athletes is twelve or attending 6th grade this fall.

FALL PROGRAMS AVAILABLE

The skills developed and implemented will prepare the athlete for the upcoming season and provide them with drills they can do on their own throughout the season.  Registration has multiple options:  Pitching Only, Hitting Only, and Pitching Hitting Combined, Position, or Minors Group Circuit. You can register for multiple programs and multiple sessions. It is all up to you.

Pitching/Throwing Sessions:

Pitchers will be training using the Jaeger Bands, wrist weights, plyo balls, medicine balls, and various weighted baseballs. Our emphasis will be on using these tools to develop strength, flexibility, balance and proper throwing technique to increase throwing velocity while reducing the risk of arm injuries. Players will also have the opportunity to throw bullpens each week to work on command, measure growth, and work on mechanics if they wish. 10 Sessions.

Hitting Sessions:

Hitters will go through various drills to improve their balance, timing, and swing path. The desired outcome will be to create a hitter that is more efficient and consistent in driving the baseball in live games. Drills will include the use of medicine balls, plyo balls, tubing, connection balls, and underload/overload bats. Balance and coordination drills will be implemented as well to support how each specific athlete moves. 10 Sessions.

Position Sessions:

45 Minutes to an hour of specific instruction based on the fielding position requested. Infield, Outfield, and Catching instruction is available. Depending on numbers this could be individually or small group (six or less). 5 Sessions.

Minors Group Circuit:

Circuit of instruction for these guys will include fielding, throwing, hitting, etc. The training will last about an hour, once a week. 5 Sessions.

THE SCHEDULE

The science behind the hitting and pitching trainings is that the various weighted implements allows the body to find the best way for you to move.  The result will be a higher swing speed, exit velocity, throwing velocity and promote a more efficient swing and throwing paths.  You will be videod in both sessions repeatedly. The drills we will be implementing are the same top professional and college athletes/teams throughout the country!

Along with registration, athletes will be able to access the coaching staff with video support throughout their spring seasons. Currently, the participant maximum is 6 players per session. We may do multiple sessions depending on how many register. The training will be held at Loftus Fields at East Valley High School.

Times are yet to be determined and will be adjusted to accommodate the athletes travel and the back to school schedule for students and coaches. Last year they began at 3:30 and ended at 5:15-5:30. Sessions are 45-60 minutes each for pitching and hitting. UPDATE: 5-week sessions are Tuesday’s and Thursdays (1st Session) September 1 through October 8 and (2nd Session) October 13 through November 12. You may also sign up for both 5-Week Sessions.
